Connie never went to our high school. We just went to elementary with her. She lived in the house behind the Jehovah Witness church.

I can't remember if Steve Hankins graduated with us or not. I'm about 1500 miles away from my year book. I do know he was our age and I went to school with him for several years. Anyway, he is no longer with us. Very sad, too. He went through a rough time of his life and was starting to climb out of it. I saw him several times just before he was killed and he was very excited about turning his life around. We were becoming good friends again. For those who don't know, he was shot execution style in a rough part of town, I don't remember what year.

Yeah I remember Steve after High School, I had a stop his dad worked at.. I'd see him there from time to time, nice guy...
we all have our demons, his put him in the wrong place at the wrong time I guess.

Didn't Steve Hankins win the Toyota Handathon in like 87 or 88? My first husband, Darryl, was in that competition and made it to the final 5. The way he lost was devastating to us at the time...a paramedic kept insisting on Darryl getting his BP taken on both arms and he kept saying 'give me your other hand now' well, sure enough Darryl got mixed up and had both hands off the car for a split second and the judge immediately called him out. I swear it was Steve Hankins who went on to win wasn't it?
Also, the Jeff Woods question is driving me crazy because it seems like I remember the 'Woods Brothers' who lived very close to me....on the corner of Summit and Paseo - is that the same person?
