Happy Birthday!! This must mean you have turned the big "40", no? Thankfully, I am still in my thirties ... for a few more months, anyway! Hope you and Dede do something wonderful to celebrate.
I was reading back through your thread and I think we all need an update on the business. Having just taken the entreprenurial leap myself to sole propietor of my little law practice, I know how scary and exciting it can be, all at the same time.
thanks for the birthday wishes. my wife is in new york till thursday so i didnt do a whole lot of anything exciting. i did some chores & rode my new scooter for a bit. later in the day i went & had some drink with a few friends. all in all a very mellow day.
i dont feel like im 41. most people tell me i dont look 41 so i guess its all pretty good. everyone says age is just a number & im inclined to agree with them (probably because im closer to 50 then to 20). i still do most the things i loved to do in my 20s (& in my teens for that matter). i dont think ive slowed down to much. i guess what i like the most about being older is i now have some "worldly wisdom", but im still immature enough to go against my better judgment sometimes.
green clean is going very well (thanks for asking) & i really love the feeling of satisfaction that owning our own business give us. dont get me wrong, not everything is always wonderful, but i love the fact that the mistakes that have been made are "my mistakes". i try & learn from them. so far it is very exciting.
believe it or not, i have more free time now. every other week i take a long weekend by not booking customers on monday. most days im done by 3:30 & i dont work weekends.
i am getting to the point that we are gonna have to hire someone. that kinda scares me. anyone who wants working for me better be able to do things the way i want them done. this person is gonna represent me (and my family), so i dont want just any pinhead. i want someone with some brains. my goal is to be the "whole foods www.wholefoodsmarket.com/company/declaration.html
of the cleaning world" lofty goal? probably, but opening green clean is the second best decision ive ever made (getting married was the first)
