It's great to be here! Thanks, Clark for setting this up. It seems a little more "intimate" than the OTHER forum. This is more or less edited from that other forum.....

Wow! Where to start? After high school, I...

* went to Gainesville for college and received a master's degree in early childhood education
* met the love of my life at UF, married him, and moved to Chicago
* taught kindergarten in Chicago for three years, then moved to Philadelphia
* taught school for five years in Philly, had a baby, moved back to Gainesville
* had another baby and am currently enjoying the heck out of raising my little family

Things I enjoy:

* volunteering at my kid's schools
* traveling with my husband when he gives talks and teaches college courses
* being close to my family and watching my nephews grow up
* taking advantage of the wonderful cultural opportunities in Gainesville (dance, music, art,
etc)
* making homemade old fashioned lye soap and other bath products
* playing with my "menagerie" of animals (one 92 lb. Rhodesian Ridgeback, two 8lb cats, two
four ounce hermit crabs, three ? ounce fish, and two containers of sea monkeys)
* going to the beach
* riding bikes and hiking

It's great to be reconnecting! I look forward to catching up with everyone!!
