Ahh, the golden years of MTV. Nobody has gotten it right since.
The Christmas sequence reminded me of my favorite Christmas video: Buster Poindexter - Is That You, Santa Claus?

Wow, I loved MTV -- it is nothing like it used to be! I remember only being able to watch it when I was babysitting since we didnt' have that channel at home.

They have very little music on MTV anymore. It's mostly all reality shows, and dating shows like Next and Parental Control (I only know this because I have a teenage daughter who likes those shows). If by some strange coincidence they do happen to put music on there, it is usually something "pop" or rap so I change the channel quickly!

Man remember back then the only time they didnt play a music video was at the top of each hour when they had the rocket and man on the moon with the animated flag, or when the VJ's were interviewing someone? Who were the first VJ's? I remember Nina Blackwood, JJ Jackson, Mark Goodman, Martha (forgot her last name) and the cute blonde guy Alan Hunter (I think that was his name). You remember the Headbangers Ball??? I went through a can of Aqua Net a week to get my hair to stay up like those guys. Remember the mullet?

Hi, my name is Camille and I'ma reality show junkie. This week starts the new season of American Idol, and nothing makes me feel better than knowing that there are people that sound worse than I do that have the cajones to go on tv and make an ass of themselves. I also have to admit after fighting the urge to not watch The Flavor of Love, I found myself drawn to it, why you may ask? Who the hell knows. I know this much, those women on that show make my small circle of friends look normal.

I am ashamed to say that I watched Flavor of Love also and have started watching I Love New York. My whole office gets excited when American Idol comes on...

I can't bring my IQ down to watch MTV these days let alone any of their reality shows. I do watch network reality, but not so much anymore. I still watch Survivor, American Idol, Grease: your the one I want, and Cops (Uh!.. bad boys, bad boys whatcha gonna do....!!!)
