That was so profound, and very accurate! Did you come up with that or were you quoting it? I'd be lying if I said I came up with it. My synopsis would be like this: It's a weird movie that stars Bob Geldof. There's some trippy cartoons and some great songs

Never saw "The Wall", but Rocky Horror was another one that makes no sense unless you actually GO to the theater and see it with all of the audience participation...THEN, it's a blast!

Peter, I saw Cowboy Junkies in concert in Philly. They were opening for an awesome band called Big Head Todd and The Monsters. While I love the Junkies music, they sucked it up in concert! We were so disappointed. And it couldn't have been the venue b/c Big Head rocked! If you've never checked out Todd Mohr and Big Head Todd they are playing at House of Blues on Feb. 10. ive been a cowboy junkies fan since the day their first album came out. i listen to them in my shop about once a week. ive seen them about 8 times. each time was amazing. margos voice sounds like pure heart break. when she sings "and im searching all the windows for a last minute present to prove to you that what i said was real, for something small and frail and plastic, baby, cause cheap is how i feel" you know she is not a happy camper. after most shows the whole band will hang out & talk or sign autographs behind the venue. i kinda haven't kept up on their last couple albums so maybe they have dropped the ball somehow. you cant go wrong with the first 3 albums if you dont have them yet.

The only artist I still listen to faithfully since the 80's is Joe Satriani !! I have every album and have caught him on every tour since 1989.

Who knows, Peter :0)! I do have the first two albums and still love listening to them. She has a very haunting voice. Never heard anything quite like it. It's great veg-out music. You'll have to post when they are coming around again so I can give 'em another try.

This post brings back great memories. It's almost too much to respond to. Peter had a huge influence on my musical taste leading up to HS. During HS I remember being really into Journey, Styx, Supertramp, Bryan Adams, Cheap Trick and Robert Palmer (may he RIP). After HS I was listening to a little harder style of rock; the Scorpions, Great White, Def Lepard, etc, etc. Also, after HS, one of my "homies" had a connection where he could score awesome concert tickets. I didn't sit further away than 5th row for nearly 2 years. I went to a lot of concerts. Here are some of my lingering memories: Patti Smythe was HOT! Bryan Adams had a bad crater face. The girls from Heart were really fat. They didn't look anything like their videos. Def Lepard just freakin rocked! Awesome show, was also the last show at the Hollywood Sportatorium. Got kicked out of Motley Crue in Orlando. Cheryl: the Outfield were pretty good in concert, but when Night Ranger took the stage afterwards, they rocked the house. A guy that went with me to one of the 7 Jimmy Buffett concerts I've been to threw up during the show. They called an intermission to clean it up. I had to take him out and make him sleep on the ground beside my car. I went back in to see the rest of the show. I passed out for 1 & 1/2 hours at a Rolling Stones concert and still didn't miss the show. They were THAT late taking the stage. I only saw the opening song from In Living Color, though. I can't think of anything more from back then right now, but I have had a chance to see some of those bands more recently. I saw Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon and Fleetwood Mac in Pontiac, MI. I saw Natalie Merchant (10,000 Maniacs) in the Quad Cities. And when I lived near New Orleans and in Baton Rouge, I saw Great White, Pink Floyd, and Zebra, maybe more, I can't remember. My greatest moment, though, was meeting Warren Zevon in Iowa and getting an autographed CD anthology. That was especially awesome for me because I had lived a fair portion of my life according to his philosophy. And Rochelle, Big Head Todd and the Monsters is a local band in Golden, CO. I've seen them several times and you're right, they are awesome!

Hey Jeff...I loooooove Patty Smythe! I loved her with Scandal, but I also have a REALLY old CD of her solo...I never get tired of listening to her.

Jeff - Night Ranger was great in the day! They played the Fraze in Dayton, OH a few years ago and I was disappointed. I guess after 20 years I shouldn't have expected them to still be awesome!
Shelly - remember the trek to Jacksonville to see Glass Tiger and Journey? That was post-FPC and first year UF, but it was a great road trip!!!
Debbie Bryant and I went to see Madonna and Bruce Springsteen - both concerts in Miami. Debbie was sloshed at the Bruce concert and I almost left her butt in the bathroom - she was hurling and I wasn't about to miss a minute of Bruce on stage. Sensitive friend, huh?

I almost forgot that I saw NIght Ranger and Jefferson Airplane at the old Hard Rock in Orlando. That was before they built the nice theater. They moved all the tables from in front of stage and you got to stand right underneath them as they played. I really enjoyed Eddie Money at the House of Blues. I also saw Pat Benetar and her voice is still as great as it ever was.

Kelly, you were probably at that Eddie Money show with a friend of mine! She said it was great, but that Eddie is really old and scary looking!!!
Jeff, Big Head Todd is soooo amazing! I'm going to see them for the seventh time in February.
Cheryl, of course I remember that concert. Do you remember hanging out at the pool with the band? And me driving Thad's trans am on the way home? Scary!!!

Oh yes! The band in the pool ... that was a fun trip! And, Thad ... dear Thad. Too bad he had to turn out to be such a Loser. And, we think the cute ones will always be successful.
I think about all of us taking 5-10 minute turns driving the car back to Gainesville - what from Tom's house or something? I am amazed that we made it home safe and sound. Thank God.
I'm curious ... those of you with kids - do you tell your kids about the crazy things we did as "kids" ourselves? Or do you lie like my sister does with my nephews?
